The technical skillset of the ideal candidate will focus on Microsoft technologies including VB.net and C#.net, along with JavaScript and SQL Server. The ability to work as a team-player in a team-centric environment is a must.
Primary
Responsibilities:
Analyze business requirements and write technical specifications
Identify and meet technology needs of the Operations team
Attend (and potentially host) regular design and implementation sessions
Be tasked with development initiatives that may require the developer to work independent of the team, as well as engage in team-centric tasks
Ability to follow through on initiatives and directives handed down by management
Developing pioneering approaches to business problems
Integrate data storage solutions (SQL database, queries)
Create stored procedures, functions and triggers as needed
Extract, transform and load data via Import/Export wizards and SSIS
Tune queries to obtain maximum performance where necessary
Strong analytical abilities and problem solving and a dedication to high quality code
Candidates should have great communication skills, be team oriented, and process oriented
Collaborate with the team on application architecture design and decision-making
Develop innovative solutions to meet the needs of the business
Provide alternate design solutions along with project estimates
Design and implement application enhancements in collaboration with different teams
Troubleshoot production support issues post release deployment and come up with solutions. Ability to solve complex production issues
Solves unique and complex problems with broad impact on the business
Participates in the development of business strategy
Translates highly complex concepts in ways that can be understood by a variety of audiences
Influences senior leadership to adopt new ideas, products, and/or approaches
Will be expected to handle smaller projects completely on their own, including interactions with other teams and 3rd parties for design and architecture
Required
Qualifications:
3 years of experience writing interactive web applications
3 years of VB.net and C#.NET experience
3 years of experience in a SQL Server database development
3 years of experience with T-SQL; writing complex queries, stored procedures and functions
Experience writing and executing functional specifications
Experience with code reviews and application testing procedures
Preferred
Qualifications:
Experience with business requirements gathering and documentation
UI Design experience and end user requirements gathering, interpreting into technical requirements and ultimately the end application
Query optimization, performance tuning and index utilization experience
Experience with the following: Oracle, PL/SQL, Cognos, Data migration (SSIS), Automated report development (SSRS), scripting language experience, such as PowerShell or Batch, C#, .NET
SQL or other database experience writing queries
Experience with SDLC life cycle and code support after deployment
